On average, standard wedding gown alterations will cost approximately $300 - $800, depending on the seamstress and the amount of changes or customizations needed. Consultation appointments are recommended with seamstresses so you can determine pricing, timing and feel comfortable with whom you choose.

Once you’ve said, “Yes to Your Dress” and have an approximate arrival date (if you’ve ordered your gown), you will want to connect with seamstresses to determine availability and secure an appointment. The ideal time frame for wedding alterations is approximately 2-3 months prior to your big day. Many seamstresses fill up fast, so don’t wait too long to book your fitting(s).

It is very important you feel confident and comfortable with the seamstress you choose. Your seamstress will turn your dream dress into reality by achieving the perfect fit for your body and height. Don’t be afraid to ask for referrals from wedding professionals, friends/family, read reviews, research their Instagram, and always discuss your vision and expectations before booking.
