2017 Wedding Trends | Greenery, Metallics & More

With every new year comes new trends and we love diving in to see what brides will come up with next! We’ve gathered a list of trends that have already begun in 2017 and look forward to many more throughout the year!

Bold Color

Expect to see pops of bold shades and bright color pairings. Pantone named greenery the Color of the Year—it’s vibrant and earthy, making it perfect for all seasons. This fresh hue is symbolic of “the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. We expect to see this shade of green in everything from floral arrangements to colored linens.

Sparkly gowns—gold, silver and metallic—flooded the bridal runways. The ball gown is making a comeback too, perfect for a formal evening wedding. These gowns from the Alfred Angelo Bridesmaid collection are going to be a big hit this year, with different lengths and cuts to tailor to your indoor or outdoor wedding needs.

Outdoor Settings

Today’s couples want a wedding that will blow their guests away, and one of the key elements to an unforgettable event is the choice of venue. Finding a venue that’s close to the ocean or mountains allows for the couple to be swept away for gorgeous scenic photos while their guests enjoy cocktail hour.

Natural Feel

Décor trends are going au naturel. If you can’t celebrate under the stars, bring the outside in. Add some oversize potted trees to a ballroom for an instant forest effect. Or incorporate natural elements like wood and stone into your table settings. Greenery (not just the color) continues to trend—it’s easy to manipulate and can give your décor an undone but beautiful look. Bouquets are getting bigger too with lush pulls of green and very little floral.

Local Specialties

With more couples infusing pride of location in their hometown celebrations, local flavors are taking the spotlight. With local catering options you have fresher options and can have the featured cocktail (or shooter) option for your guests that speaks from your wedding theme.

Honeymoon Gifting

An interesting trend that we find absolutely genius, is the new requests for purchasing honeymoon adventures rather than the traditional kitchen utensils. The couple creates a list of things they’d like to do on their honeymoon and guests have the option to purchase them – snorkeling packages, dinner for 2 at sunset by the beach, zip lining etc! Here’s an example from www.ourdreamhoneymoon.com where a couple asked for specific options while on their vacation in Argentina (or an option to donate to the whole trip)!

We can’t wait to see our 2017 brides walk down the aisle and hope you’ll share your photos and videos with us!
